12 Shelby football players earn all-league honors

Multiple members of the 11-0 Shelby Whippets football team are earning Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference honors, including eight on the first team.
The MOAC listed the selections on its website Tuesday.
Shelby first-team honorees are:

-- Quinton Albert
-- Karson Homan
-- Brayden Schartiger
-- Brayden DeVito
-- Brady Bowman
-- Dennis LaFon
-- Sam Gwirtz
Earning second-team MOAC honors from the Shelby team are:
-- Bryce Booker
-- Michael Shepherd
-- Nic Eyster
Shelby's honorable mention MOAC selection is Cohen Sturts.
In all, 65 players across the eight-team league were named first team, second team or honorable mention.

In a quarterfinal Division IV Region 14 football playoff matchup, No. 2 Shelby plays Ottawa-Glandorf (6-5) at 7 p.m. Friday at the Whippet Athletic Complex in Shelby.
