Bellevue 43, Shelby Lady Whippets 39 (final)
BUCYRUS -- Bellevue defeated the Shelby Lady Whippets 43-39 on Saturday afternoon in the Ohio Division IV district championship game.
The Lady Whippets conclude the season with a 22-3 record. They achieved a 14-0 record in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference, securing their seventh consecutive league championship, winning a sectional title, and finishing as the district runner-up.
This season, the Shelby program also passed the 800th win mark in its 51-year history, and senior Eve Schwemley surpassed the 1,000-point milestone in her career with Shelby basketball.

Bellevue, ranked No. 5 in Ohio by MaxPreps, is now 24-1 and advances to the regional tournament.
The Shelby-Bellevue game was played at Bucyrus High School.
