Friends of Marvin Memorial Library set to host community events
The Friends of Marvin Memorial Library will host two fundraisers at the library this week to support library programming and community events, the Shelby group announced.
The Soup and Sandwich Night Fundraiser will be held beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 10 and continuing until meals sell out.
The event will offer soup, sandwiches, and desserts in the library’s multipurpose room at the library, 29 W. Whitney Ave., with meals available for a free-will donation. Guests may dine in or carry out. A pie raffle featuring the items from O’Charley’s will run throughout the evening, the group reports.
Spring Book Sale
The library’s Spring Book Sale begins the same afternoon (April 10) and will continue on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12. Sale hours are 4 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.
Books will be sold for $5 per bag, and puzzles for $1 each.
"All proceeds from both events go towards the wonderful library events and programs our community enjoys," the announcement said.
Details for both events, announced via news release, are available on the Friends of Marvin Memorial Library Facebook page. See the post here
