Other bids were received from Melway Paving Company for $179,234.90 and The Shelly Company for $202,095.60, records show.
The trustees, consisting of Chairman Mark Wright, Kevin Alt, and Randy Boyce, discussed the bids before ultimately awarding the contract during the trustees' regular session of April 15.
The tar and chip method to maintain and improve local roadways generally involves layering hot tar and aggregates to create a durable and traction-enhancing surface.
The session is documented thoroughly in the official meeting minutes, which serve as a detailed record of the township’s operational and financial decisions.
