Jackson Township Trustees close out a busy '24
The Jackson Township trustees recently concluded a set of meetings marked by a range of issues from finances to zoning.
These sessions are documented thoroughly in the official meeting minutes, which serve as a detailed record of the township’s operational and financial decisions.
The meetings highlighted various township operations, including zoning issues, road maintenance, and fiscal realignments for the year-end financials.
Chairman Mark Wright leads the trustees alongside Trustees Kevin Alt and Randy Boyce.
During their regular session on Dec. 17, the trustees approved minutes from previous meetings, financial reports, and addressed specific concerns.
Key discussions included complaints about a Taylortown Road location and a dumping issue at a vacant lot along Amoy West Road.
In addition, township roads saw practical upkeep actions such as the acquisition of a new flag donated by Trustee Kevin Alt, road salting, and tree removal activities.
Two different conversations were held about new houses possibly being built in the township.
Efforts also are being made for the township's new Western Star truck. The truck's title has been received, and license plates are being acquired.
The fiscal agenda featured approval of financial documents including fund status and receipt reports.
Purchase orders and vouchers were presented for approval and payment. All were approved. Special reports addressed at the meeting included recent zoning training sessions, a zoning commission meeting, and the servicing of a mini excavator, enhancing township operational capacity.
A follow-up special session was convened on Dec. 31 to address year-end financial adjustments necessary for compliance with the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
The session included financial efforts that culminated in the adoption of Resolution 2024-30, presented by Chairman Wright.
The resolution is to realign the permanent appropriations by modifying accounts to reallocate funds to cover December 2024 Ohio Public Employees Retirement System. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote, with Wright and Boyce as the trustees in attendance.
