List: Shelby police calls (May 17-May 20)
More than a dozen police reports are newly released by Shelby PD. Here is a look:
May 17
Call type: FOUND PROPERTY
Location: PARKWOOD/WENTZ
Time: 12:24 p.m.
Narrative per police report: Dispatch received information about found property. The complainant located a wallet in the area of the tennis courts off of Parkwood and Wentz. Officers attempted to locate the owner of the property to no avail. The item will be placed into the property room for safekeeping.

Call type: ANIMAL COMPLAINT
Location: TRINITY UNITED METHODIST, 209 E MAIN
Time: 10:13 a.m.
Narrative per police report: The Shelby Police Department responded to 209 E. Main St. in reference to a reported injured raccoon. Upon arrival, the officer viewed the animal in the field adjacent to the listed address. The animal was found to have significant, debilitating injuries. The animal was put down with one round fired from an officer's duty pistol.

Narrative per police report: A male contacted the police department in reference to the female arriving at their child's sporting event. The male explained that the female has a protection order against him, but the children were with him per their child custody agreement. The officer planned to complete a report and speak with the law director.

Narrative per police report: A person arrived at the police department to report that another person had been contacting him outside the parameters set by the court that determined child custody.

Narrative per police report: An officer was detailed to a Park Avenue address in reference to a menacing complaint.

Call type: FAMILY DISPUTE
Location: City of Shelby
Time: 8:15 p.m.
Narrative per police report: Officers responded in reference to a family dispute. After conducting a brief investigation, it was determined that no crime had been committed. All parties were advised to separate for the night so that things could cool off between them.

Time: 8:14 a.m.
Narrative per police report: The Shelby Police Department received a complaint about a possible sex crime that happened outside its jurisdiction. The case was forwarded to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.

Call type: FAMILY DISPUTE
Location: SHELBY POLICE DEPARTMENT and WEST PARK
Time: 5:21 p.m.
Narrative per police report: A male arrived at the police department to report an argument involving his girlfriend and her sister. An officer traveled to the location and spoke with the residents and then traveled to the police department to speak with the male and female. Both were advised a report would be on file, but no criminal charges would be filed.

Call type: CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Narrative per police report: Officers were dispatched to a criminal mischief complaint. A juvenile male, while down at the Shelby pickleball courts, threw a paddle that struck a panel on a resident's greenhouse, causing damage. The resident did not want the juvenile charged and instead wanted him to be talked to since it was not intentional. Officers spoke with the juvenile, and the case was closed.

Narrative per police report: Officers were dispatched to Clark in reference to domestic violence involving a juvenile. No arrests were made.

Call type: ASSIST OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY
Location: SHELBY AVENUE
Time: 12:22 p.m.
Narrative per police report: Richland County Probation requested assistance at a Shelby Avenue address in reference to warrant service. Upon arrival, the two listed people were found hiding inside the residence. Both were secured on their warrants and removed from the residence. The 40-year-old female was released shortly after for medical purposes. The 39-year-old male was transferred into the custody of the Richland County Sheriff's Office.

Call type: JUVENILE COMPLAINT
Location: PIONEER CAREER AND TECH CENTER, 27 RYAN
Time: 12 p.m.
Narrative per police report: A parent arrived at Pioneer Career & Technology Center to report her son having issues with another student. Both students received school discipline.
