Mansfield woman dead, Plymouth resident hurt in Knox County motorcycle crash
A motorcycle went off State Route 95 while rounding a curve and overturned Sunday afternoon north of Fredericktown in Knox County, resulting in the death of a passenger and injuries to the driver, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
Bridgette Murray, 52, of Mansfield, was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital where she died from her injuries, authorities said.
The driver of the motorcycle, identified as
Alicia Johnson, 70, of Plymouth, sustained serious injuries and was being treated at OhioHealth Mansfield, the patrol said.
Johnson was operating a 2020 Vespa GTS300 motorcycle southwest on State Route 95 when the crash occurred at 12:25 p.m., the patrol said.
Ms. Murray was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, the patrol said. It was not specified if Johnson was wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation by the patrol’s Mount Gilead post.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Fredericktown Police Department, and Fredericktown Fire/EMS. The crash remains under investigation.
