A pickup truck and a minivan collided head-on along West Main Street in Shelby on Friday night, with no injuries reported to either motorist, police report.
The crash occurred at 11:21 p.m. Feb. 7 in the area between 347 and 357 West Main St., the Shelby police traffic crash report released this weekend shows. The area generally is between Stambaugh Drive and Funk Road.
The 2014 Toyota Sienna minivan was eastbound on West Main and the 1999 Ford F-350 pickup was heading west on West Main when the minivan traveled left of center, driving head-on into the pickup, the police report states.
Both vehicles suffered disabling damage and were towed from the scene by Platinum Towing.
The minivan driver, a 51-year-old Arizona woman, was issued a citation, police said. A 22-year-old man from Crestline was driving the pickup.
Both vehicles were driving at the posted speed of 35 mph, the report shows.
Initial accounts differed on which vehicle crossed the center line first, the report shows. But officers were able to observe the tire marks from the pickup truck, showing that it did not cross the centerline until after the collision, the report states.
Officers then reviewed camera footage from cameras located at a home in the area, showing "the entire accident," the report states.
A West Main Street yard was damaged as the result of the crash.
All airbags deployed in the minivan.
