BUCYRUS — An Ohio State Highway Patrol Chevrolet Tahoe was struck from behind, resulting in an injury crash about 35 miles west of Shelby, state authorities report.
The crash took place at 1:28 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 23 in Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County.
The crash involved a northbound Ram ProMaster van driven by Dara M. Larochelle, 38, of Powell, which collides with the Tahoe as it was slowing in traffic, the patrol said.
The Tahoe was operated by Trooper Jacob M. Teal from the Toledo post.
Teal sustained minor injuries and was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital. Larochelle, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, was flown to Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, the patrol said.
Assistance at the scene was provided by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, Upper Sandusky Fire and EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Danner’s Towing and Recycling, and Lemaster Towing and Recovery, LLC.
