Richland driver killed as SUV hits Knox ditch, tree, flips, strikes building
A motorist killed in Knox County when the SUV he was driving struck a ditch, tree, overturned, and then hit a building is being identified as a Richland County resident, authorities said.
Joseph Morr, 30, of Mansfield was pronounced dead Friday night at the scene along State Route 3 north of Mount Vernon, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Morr was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer southwest on State Route 3 about 10:06 p.m. Friday when the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and crashed, the patrol said.
He was wearing a seat belt.
The patrol’s Mount Gilead post is leading the investigation.
State troopers were assisted at the scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Monroe Township Fire Department.
