Shelby Rotary recognizes student for academic, extracurricular excellence
The Rotary Club of Shelby is recognizing Zada Marquis as its January Student of the Month, celebrating her academic accomplishments and community involvement.
The announcement was made on the club's Facebook page on Jan. 27.
Marquis, a senior at Shelby High School, holds a weighted 4.35 grade-point average, ranking 12th in her class of 2025.

The Rotary Club highlighted Marquis’ dedication both in and out of the classroom.
Her favorite subject is anatomy and physiology, and she actively participates in multiple extracurricular activities.
Marquis has been a member of the G.O.L.D Club and Interact Club for two years each and has competed in girls tennis and track and field for four years.
She also volunteers with peer and tutoring programs.
Looking ahead, Marquis plans to attend North Central State College to study radiological sciences after graduating high school.
Marquis is the daughter of Angie and Mike Workman.
The Shelby Rotary Club regularly recognizes outstanding students as part of its mission to support youth and education.
