Shelby schools preview Board of Education meeting
The next regular meeting of the Shelby Board of Education is planned for 6 p.m. Monday, April 21, the district announced.
The session is planned for the David A. Jones Little Theater at the Shelby Board of Education Office, 109 West Smiley Ave.
Via news release ahead of the meeting, the district offered key items for discussion:
-- Approve minutes, financial reports, accept donations and grants
--Approve transfers of funds, Medicaid audit fiscal year 2026 and fiscal year 2027
-- Approve student accident insurance, docked days for staff and payment of invoices with no purchase order
--Accept resignations, award certified staff contracts for the 2025-26 school year
-- Approve administrative staff members, approve certified staff members for summer planning
-- Approve track timing officials, tournament workers, substitutes, seasonal/summer workers, volunteers
-- Approve additional payment to staff members. Approve payment in accordance with ORC 3319.10.
-- Approve summer position, approve OBI (On Board Instructor) involving school transportation vehicle use
-- Approve the district to cover the cost of required background checks for current students applying for employment and working as a student employee in the district
-- Approve plans for field trips
-- Approve agreements, contracts and quotes
-- Approve preschool sliding scale
-- Review and approve board policies
-- Motion to move into executive session for employment
-- A district records commission meeting will immediately follow the regular Shelby Board of Education session, the news release stated.
Shelby school board members are Scott Rose, president; Kim Nadolsky, vice president; Randy Broderick; Heather Braun; and Brad Ream.
