Troopers catch suspects in chase that ends with Shelby area crash
Three suspects wanted in connection with a Kent robbery were apprehended Saturday night in Shelby when their vehicle crashed into a ditch following a pursuit, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
One occupant sustained minor injuries.
Troopers attempted to stop a black 2019 Toyota RAV4 on I-71 southbound, north of U.S. 30 in Ashland County, at approximately 9:37 p.m. Saturday, the patrol said in an update on Tuesday.
The vehicle was wanted in connection with an earlier robbery in Kent, authorities said.
The Toyota fled and traveled west onto U.S. 30, the patrol said. The vehicle then lost control and drove into a ditch on State Route 39, north of Rock Road, in the Shelby area, authorities added.
All three vehicle occupants were taken into custody without incident. One occupant complained of minor injuries from the vehicle driving into the ditch. The case remains under investigation.
