The undefeated and conference title champion Shelby Whippets are hosting a first-round playoff game, the Ohio High School Athletic Association announced Sunday.
In the state football playoff matchup, Shelby (10-0 and Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference winner) plays Elida at 7 p.m. Friday in Shelby at the Whippet Athletic Complex. It’s a Division IV Region 14 playoff matchup.
The OHSAA said that tickets for all playoff games will be available on Mondays at www.ohsaa.org/tickets

The Whippets won the outright Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championship on Friday night with a 33-14 win over Marion Pleasant.
Elida, No. 15 in the latest regional computer rankings, is 3-7 on the season. The Bulldogs defeated Van Wert 49-34 on Friday.
Elida competes in the Western Buckeye League, which also includes Bath, Celina, Defiance, Kenton, Ottawa Glandorf, Shawnee, St. Marys, Van Wert and Wapakoneta
