Shelby QB DeVito, Coach Mahaney earn top MOAC honors

More honors are being bestowed on the undefeated Shelby Whippets football team.
Shelby quarterback Brayden DeVito was named Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Coach Rob Mahaney is the league's Coach of the Year.
The honors came at the league's banquet on Wednesday night, the Shelby football program announced in a social media post, providing details.
"Congratulations to our first-team All-MOAC honorees who attended the MOAC banquet tonight and brought home the MOAC Championship trophy," it said.
List: 12 Shelby football players honored
The Shelby team is 12-0. It plays in the regional semifinals on Friday night against rival Ontario (11-1) at Arlin Field in Mansfield.
