Here is a look at the Shelby Christmas in the City with Parade special event held on Sunday, Dec. 1 in the downtown area.

Events and activities — including horse-drawn carriage rides, crafts and a visit to Shelby by reindeer — carried on all day and into the night, including the 6 p.m. parade.

"Thank you to all the Shelby businesses for participating in today's event," Connie Roub said via Facebook. "You all are amazing! Was a blast! The community support was incredible!"

She credited Shelby's downtown business team for the success of the events.
