Shelby business makes announcement
Some changes are coming to a business in the heart of downtown Shelby.
"Sometimes they say life has those bittersweet moments for us at the Well Coffee Shop, this is one of them," the business announced recently on its Facebook page. In announcing the sale of the coffee, hand-dipped ice cream and gift shop, the post stated that "as of June 14th, we will be closed" with a new unidentified owner having "huge plans" for the future.
The business is at 24 W. Main St., right next to Black Fork Commons.
On its Blackfork Commons Mercantile page, it's posting a series of photos. They look back on its history in Shelby since its 2021 opening.
Stay tuned for updates.

Holmes County tornado snaps dozens of trees
HOLMES COUNTY -- A tornado with peak winds of 105 mph powered through the Lake Buckhorn area Monday evening, damaging property and snapping or uprooting dozens of trees, the National Weather Service said.
No injuries were reported in the tornado that started about four miles east-southeast of Killbuck, about 27 miles southeast of Loudonville, the NWS said in a detailed statement on Tuesday afternoon.
The EF1 tornado, which struck around 5:28 p.m. Monday, carved a 1.32-mile path through the region before dissipating three minutes later.
The twister began near the intersection of Susten Drive and Geneva Drive, moved northeast across Mullheim Drive and West Buckhorn Drive, and continued through the Lake Buckhorn community.
"Some of the trees had trunks estimated to be between 1 and 2 feet in diameter, and the tornado was at its widest point of 80 yards near the west shore of the lake," the weather service said in its statement.
As the tornado crossed Lake Buckhorn, it partially lifted a pontoon boat and an adjacent dock.
"The tornado then crossed Lake Buckhorn and gradually weakened, but dozens of additional trees were downed on the east side of the lake as the tornado crossed East Buckhorn Drive and traversed Lucerne Drive," the weather service said in its damage survey.
The tornado crossed State Route 83, damaging the roof of a barn. The tornado then dissipated.
The National Weather Service conducted a damage survey Tuesday afternoon to assess the storm’s intensity and path.
An EF1 tornado is classified as having wind speeds of 86 to 110 mph on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.
